15 Sci-Fi Books for People Who Don't Like Sci-Fi

"To be clear, I love science fiction. I grew up reading Star Wars expanded universe books (yes, I'm a nerd) and anything about first contact I could get my hands on. I read Anne McCaffrey, not just Pern but all the rest (shout-out to unicorn girls in space).
Yet I am aware that if you didn't come early to sci-fi, it sometimes feels hard to break in. Where do you start? What if you don't want to read about physics for 100 pages? And so I am here to recommend books to those new to the genre — and also to longtime readers who are trying to decide how to convince their friends to dip their toes into this beloved place. Come for a swim." ~BookBub
