I see critic reviews having the purpose of advising audiences about the quality of a movie. But sometimes critics pan a film that audiences liked or praised a film that audiences didn't. This is a list of 100 movies where the Rotten Tomatoes Critic/Audience approval percentages are at minimum 35% apart in either direction, with most having a divide of 40% or more.
Moral of the story: do not trust film critics.
Disclaimers:
All score differences were correct at the time of adding to the list during its production. It's possible that in the future some on the borderline will get pushed over my threshold for inclusion.
The selections do not take into account how many critic reviews were collected: if a tomatometer was present it was considered valid to include.
I do not necessarily agree that the critics were wrong on some of these films, nor have I seen all of them myself.
The films aren't necessarily well regarded by either side, they just have a wide % difference.
