It is an undeniable truth that many Dungeons & Dragons campaigns are influenced by popular fantasy media. For every Dungeon Master who sets to create an epic adventure at the scale of Lord of the Rings, most often the campaign devolves into absurd laughter, where larger than life personalities clash en route to defeat a villain. The average campaign is a place of laughter and fun, but not necessarily the solemn seriousness often found in fantasy films. However, there are movies that capture that joyful fun of these campaigns, featuring weird characters, humorous narratives and sometimes an epic adventure watered down by awkwardness.
