10 Best Known New French Extremity Movies

New French Extremity, a term coined by James Quandt, is a controversial and niche film movement that began in the 1990s, notable for its explicit nature. They are often horror movies, but often also fall outside of horror's traditional scope and are perhaps more more disturbing for it. Production of new films associated with New French Extremity isn't common today, but one, Titane (2021), recently won the coveted Palme d'Or.
