10 Action Movie Remakes That Actually Improved on the Original (Screenrant)

"Action movies need a compelling plot to function, but new directors and action choreographers can breathe new life into familiar stories. This makes action movies perfect for remakes. There have been plenty of unnecessary movie remakes over the years, but not all remakes should immediately be disregarded because of this trend. A good movie remake should still bring new ideas to the table, rather than simply trying to recreate the original. A remake can surpass the original to the extent that it becomes widely accepted as the superior movie, and people might even forget the original. This is especially true of action movies, since some fans see the plot as secondary to the thrills of the action sequences. A compelling cast and an excellent director can turn any material into at least a passable action movie, so remakes can often improve on the originals." - screenrant.com
